Introduction to Holistic Nutrition

The combination of Eastern diagnoses and Western nutrition is a customized approach to eating right and is based on thousands of years of observation rather than hundreds of years of "science" which only seem to correspond with increasing disease. Holistic nutrition focuses on the root of the problem rather than a "band-aid" short term quick fix. It takes into consideration the whole person- mind and body. Even modern science is starting to discover the links between our mental health and our physical well-being. Also, there is no such thing as a one size fits all diet, everyone is different. Even some so-called “health foods” just don’t work for some people. We all come from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and have different nutritional needs.
One main aspect of healing yourself with food is just *being aware* of how you feel in response to *what you eat*. I think you may be surprised how much power and insight this can give you into your own body. Humans are creatures of habit, and sometimes we just go along and eat the same things even though our body is telling us that it's not agreeing with what we are feeding it. It is considered completely normal nowadays to have numerous health problems. It doesn't have to be this way. The goal is to become in touch with its subtle messaging, for example if you feel sleepy after eating, that's your digestive system saying, "Hey buddy, this is taking all my energy to digest this, I don't have anything left!" And if there is pain, there is inflammation. There are many foods which can combat this inflammation response. The body is smart, it sends us these signals that we are out of balance, in hopes that we will listen and do what is necessary to correct it. If we are in tune, and we are educated about what actions to take, we will have a much better life and sense of well being.
Often our health issues, even minor, can hold us back from living a full life. All of us have infinite potential as human beings on this earth. We have the potential to thrive, to be independent, to be a positive contribution to society, to be happy, and to have purpose to what we do. Being in good health lays a solid foundation on which to build the house of our dreams.

You say, YES! I want this! So, then where do we start?

The more information you can give me the better I can help you. I will email you a few forms to fill out, and this will tell me me what direction to give you as far as food recommendations. After I can see what your body's pattern is, I can get a sense of what foods will work for or against you and can compile a personalized shopping list, and recipe suggestions.

Email me for more information! I look forward to working with you
